Enterprise Education aims to teach students business acumen and better businesses financial capability. This is achieved through encouraging them to use their existing skills for enterprise, while at the same time developing healthy appetite for risk, and the belief in themselves to attain a "can do" attitude.

uBiz can help you meet all of the elements of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority for Economic Wellbeing by setting up a real-life print shop in your school or college.

Why do it?

Since 2004, work related learning has been a required element of Key stage 4 and 5. In addition, Enterprise Education can help engage students in a range of subjects, and in doing so, raise grades as part of the schools overall improvement program. Enterprise education can also raise the profile of the school within the community, as this is normally where the majority of any marketing effort is centered. As a result of this, an Enterprise Education within a school can often be self funding.

How?

We offer a complete package which facilitates schools in setting up a printing and copying business. All the equipment, material and training is provided, along with on going business mentoring. What's more, the equipment can be rented to avoid large startup costs.

Is there funding available?

In the 2007 budget Gordon Brown announced £180 Million would be made available over three years. That works out around £17000 per year for each average sized secondary school
