Entreprenuer Peter Jones' National Enterprise Academy WebsiteEntrepreneur and famous TV dragon's Den panelist Peter Jones announced plans during 2008 to set up a National Enterprise Academy for 16-18 year olds. Support by the government, the Academy aims to promote cultural change in the UK, and nurture an enterprising mindset in young people.

On the Academy website, Jones describes the initative as a personal long term ambition. According to Jones the Academy sets out to encourage:

".... more entrepreneurial activity - as well as providing young people with the skills and confidence to aim higher and be more successful in relation to enterprise in the workplace or starting their own business."

Jones also explains his motivation behind setting up the Academy:

"Why am I doing it? - Well, I believe that there is a stark difference in the entrpreneurial mindset between the UK and the US. Here we tend to take a "can I?" approach whereas in the US the "I can" belief is instilled from an early age".

The Academy officially opens its doors to students later this year
